Saturday’s blog asked, “Isn’t He Wonderful?” and Sunday’s blog praised “Wonderful, Wonderful Jesus.” Today, therefore, I want to accent the idea of “Wonder,” with the song, “The Wonder of It All.”
In 1955, aboard a ship, George Beverly Shea recognized a fellow passenger who was head of a music publishing company. The man was not a Christian, but was fascinated by Christian hymns and published many of them. As they talked, Bev described the Billy Graham crusades, saying to his friend, “I wish you could be there and see for yourself the wonder of it all. As they talked, the man wrote on an envelope, “The Wonder of It All,” handed it to Mister Shea, and challenged him to write a song with that title. He did it that very night.
