God Bless America

CFFBLOG1.jpgMay 28, 2017 (Sunday) MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND
Tomorrow is Memorial Day, a day set aside to honor the memory of every person who has given his or her life in the service of their country. Today we are remembering the words of a grand old song given to us by a great American who immigrated to this country when he was a small boy. Irving Berlin was a true patriot, inspiring us all.

GOD BLESS AMERICA
Words and Music by Irving Berlin
1938

While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that’s free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer.
God Bless America,
Land that I love.
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.
