WHEN

When you thought you won the race.
You didn’t
When you tried to turn the lid
You couldn’t.
When you said just what you felt
You shouldn’t.
When you claimed it’s great importance
It wasn’t.
When you didn’t need direction
You did.
When you knew you did not need it…
You bid
When you thought you wrote the note…
You hadn’t.
When you said that you were sorry.
You weren’t.
When you say you’ve done all that,
You haven’t.
When you think that no one cares,
One does.
When you pray for sins forgiven.
They are.
When you feel so all a-lone
He’s there
When you find a choice solution.
It’s prayer.
None of these may fit you….
But they do!

” Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you.
He will never let the rightous fall.” Psalm 55:22

HARVEY

Yes, ole Harvey left his marks.
Tried to tear up all our parks.
Closed down all the City Schools.
Make our kids grow up like fools.
If that wasn’t bout enough,
he tried to ruin all our stuff.
Roofs and windows chairs & doors,
after that it was our floors.
Trees fell down like falling leaves,
ripping holes in roofs & eaves.
Once the damage was all done
now the big work has begun.
Piles of trash & trees grew tall,
More than all the trucks could haul.
Folks now came from far & near
bringing food & needed cheer.
Eat stands appeared. “We’re here to ease
the load you have with all that’s come.
With ham or cheese, or chicken fried to feed & please.”
“No charge ,my friend, the cookies too, take some!”
How can we pray through all of this?
Why not? Are prayers just good when all is bliss?
Now is the hour to talk with Him
And read His Word, or sing a hymn.
“Tho’ the storms of life are raging, Stand by me”

IT’S HOTTER THAN IT’S EVER BEEN

It’s hotter than its ever been!
Sweat is drippin’ to my chin.
We need a norther rippin’ in.
It’s hotter than its ever been!

It’s wetter than I can remember.
Except for maybe one September
A storm blew down lots of timber.
It’s wetter than I can remember.

My electric bill’s higher than ever.
Those guys all think that they’re so clever!
If I don’t pay they pull some lever.
My lectric bill’s the highest ever!

Why sure I put the garbage out!
Those fish remains were getting stout.
There’s nothing like a speckled trout.
I THOUGHT I put the garbage out!

This time the goof is not too cheery.
I’ve got to dig a hole to bury
My mistake in, “Dearie”.
This time the goof is not too cheery!

We may forget the days and times.
Rain and bills. or nursery rhymes,
No big deal. Whats all the fuss?
Just don’t forget. GOD LOVES US!
