One More Poem to Celebrate Dale’s Work

Noah
by Dale Pogue

“Hey Noah! Someone told us you’re building a boat!
Do you think there’s a chance that that box will float?
Who drew you the plans? Did they draw them for free?
It’s two hundred miles to the nearest sea!!!! Hee,Hee,Hee!”

“That door in the side will surely not do.
It’s so big you could drive an elephant through!! Hoo,Hoo,Hoo!
When you finish this thing will you sail very far?
Maybe to Ararat! Har,Har,Har!”

“Call us, Noah, when you think you are done.
We’ll all pack a lunch. It could be real fun!
Please save us a place. Don’t tell us no.
A cruise in your ark will be THE place to go! Ho,Ho,Ho!”

Month after month they taunted and teased.
Not caring how much that God was displeased.
Noah toiled on, he and the boys.
Soon hammer and saws were the only noise

As the teasers went back to their sinful play
And the animals came, day after day,
Clouds rolled in and the land became dark.
And Noah with God sealed up the ark.

It rained and it poured day after day.
The sun was concealed. Not a single ray.
Water stood where desert had been.
The men who had mocked saw the jam they were in.

“Noah, Noah! Please open the door!
We won’t laugh or tease anymore!”
“The door is sealed. I don’t have a key.
God means what He says as you will see.”

And He does! It’s still so to this very day.
God will have with this world His final say.
So be ready, my Friend, before it’s too late.
For some time ahead He will seal the gate.

Genesis 6:22
“Noah did everything just as God commanded him.”
