Our Prayer for You

The Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians at Colosse: “Since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you” (Colossians 1:9).
He prayed for the Colossians to know God’s will. He wrote, “We are asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will and understanding.” When making decisions, whatever process we follow should include asking ourselves, “What does God want?” We must remember the prayer that Jesus prayed, “Not my will, but yours, be done.”
Paul’s prayer for the Colossians was that they would not only know what God’s will was, but that they would actually do God’s will. He said to them, “We pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord, that you may please Him in every way.”
We should all pray that we would accept God’s will, whatever it is. Paul prayed that the Colossians would have great endurance and patience, so that they might also have great joy. As they offered thanksgiving to God for revealing His will to them, they would have peace within their hearts.
As we pray for others let us pray that they may do God’s will, please Him by living for Him, joyfully thanking Him for His forgiveness.

VERSES FROM COLOSSIANS 1:
since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
