Pre-Easter Theme: What Jesus Taught Us
Theme for this week:God Loves the World Through Us
Have you ever introduced a person to Christ? We’ve had a lot of phrases through the years that describe this awesome experience: Personal Evangelism, Soul-winning, Witnessing, Winning people to Christ, Leading people to Jesus, and I’m sure many more, but “Sharing God’s Love” is the phrase we’ve been using in this series of blogs. I like to think of it that way, because as the song says, “What the world needs now is love, sweet love.”
From Kurt kaiser’s song, “Pass It On,” in 1976: “It only takes a spark to get a fire going and soon all those around can warm up in its glowing–that’s how it is with God’s love, once you’ve experienced it. You spread His love to everyone. You want to pass it on.
I wish for you, my friend, this happiness that I’ve found. You can depend on Him — it matters not where you’re bound. I’ll shout it from the mountain tops! I want my world to know. The Lord of Love has come to me. I want to pass it on!
Happy to pass it on? Just take a look at Evie’s face as she shares God’s love in this song.
My mind goes back the 1970s when we hd a youth group that loved to sing and took the message, “Pass It On” to other churches and other places. If there are those reading this that were part of that, just think–that was almost half a century ago. But God’s love is still the same, and the joy of sharing it is just as real today as ever before.
