On these hot summer days we need to be aware of maintaining an adequate amount of water in our bodies. The average adult male has about 12 gallons of water in his body. If he loses 11% of that water he may die. The condition is called, “dehydration,” and it’s serious.
Whether through normal bodily processes or through illness of several types, dehydration can be dangerous. I’ve personally known of at least two ladies who have been in the hospital for this condition during the year just past.
If you spend time outside during a hot summer like this one, you need to stay aware of your fluid intake and make sure you’re drinking enough water.
The word, “water,” appears 426 times in the King James Version of the Bible. While natural water is important, there is a type of water that is even more important. Jesus told us about it. He said, “”Everyone who drinks this water (well water) will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:13-14 NIV). He was speaking of the spiritual life we find through faith in Him.
