A few days ago I wrote a blog about “Old Faithful,” our side by side avocado-colored refrigerator. It kept stuff cold for 46 years and 27 days. Alas, it cratered shortly after I wrote about it. Too bad. How sad. It served us well for a long, long time. Doubtless it could be repaired again but I suppose it’s destined now for the appliance graveyard, wherever that is.
Now there’s a new kid on the block. Here’s a snapshot (right).
If it lasts as long as “Old Faithful,” it will be filling my glass with ice when I’m 130 years old. Well, I know you’re thinking I’ll never make it past 129, but I woke up again this morning, so who knows? OK, I’ll agree somebody else will be using this new one one of these days. I just hope they enjoy it. As a matter of fact, I’m hoping I enjoy it. One never knows for sure about appliances these days.
