Tiny but Deadly

We had heavy rains recently, and now we are battling mosquitoes. We knew they were coming as we watched the rain fall, and now they are here.
What is the deadliest animal in the world? The mosquito. The World Health Organization estimates that at least one million people are killed by malaria each year, a disease transmitted by mosquitoes.

Ironic, isn’t it, that something so small could do so much harm. Yet it is true.
The Bible speaks of “the little foxes” as dangerous critters, because they can get through openings that the larger foxes cannot navigate.
The little sin, if there is such a thing, does much harm on a regular basis in our society.
“Little white lies” always lead to big, black ones. Always.
Almost every big sin we can imagine starts out as a small one. Covetousness leads to theft. Lust leads to adultery. Hatred leads to murder.
That being the case, can there exist such a thing as a “little” sin?
Tonight when you retire in your bed, just remember the monster is not in the closet or under the bed. Three guesses as to where it is.
