Theme for this week: “New Year 2022”

In yesterday’s blog, I suggested that we might have greater success in meeting our goals for the new year if we mastered the art of living one day at a time. Today I will go a step further: we need to live our lives from moment to moment. Actually we don’t live from day to day; we live from moment to moment. Our song today suggests we treasure those moments.
When we close our eyes in sleep tonight, we will have made memories of this day, and we will have done it moment by moment, as we laughed, played, held hands, kissed, said, “I love you,” and..well, just lived out the day.
Our memories are precious when they include our devotion to Christ, who is with us moment by moment. There’s an old song in our hymnals, “Moment by Moment,” by Daniel Whittle and May Moody. Written in 1896, at one time the song was very popular for special music in worship services: “Moment by moment I’m kept in His love;
Moment by moment I’ve life from above; Looking to Jesus till glory doth shine; Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.” His presence in our hearts makes every moment with those we love even more precious.
