Our Seasons

Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (1678-1741) was an Italian Baroque composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher, impresario, and Roman Catholic priest. His best-known work is a series of violin concertos known as the Four Seasons. The concertos (about 45 minutes long) can be seen and heard on YouTube. The beauty of the music creates mental images of our beautiful terrestrial home.

Here in Rockport, Texas, we have a semi-tropical climate. The seasons are muted, but they exist, just not as pronounced as in other places on earth.

The four seasons remind us to be thankful for the wonderful world God has given us. The previous several blogs have emphasized this truth. When we pause and meditate on this subject, we are compelled to exclaim with Louis Armstrong, “What a wonderful world.”

There’s a song about God that was at the top of the charts some years ago, entitled “He.” The lyrics proclaim the fact that “HE” is in charge of His world, always ready to forgive us when we go astray. The song was written by Richard Mullan and Jack Richards in 1954.
