My cousin, Clinton, and I were about 16 years old when we visited the candy counter at Sears. I was smitten by the girl behind the counter. I could not think of anything else and could not sleep that night, thinking about her. The next day I made my way as soon as possible to the candy counter to hear the love of my life say, “Where’s your cousin? He’s cute. Tell him to come back and see me.” Oh, the pain of a 16-year-old whose love has been rejected.
Here’s how some people have learned to say, “No, I don’t love you:”

OR, you could do what Jesus said and love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself (Luke 10:27).
