A Sermon About Jesus

Chas.suit.1.jpgJune 30, 2015 (Tuesday)
On this last day of June, 2015, I offer to you a sermon outline that presents the heart of the gospel we preach to a lost and dying world. We cannot imagine the kind of love that God has for us–a love so great that “He spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all.” God showed His love for each and every one of us when He gave His one and only Son to save us. The love of Jesus for us all is beyond human comprehension.

GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE            2 CORINTHIANS 5:21

INTRODUCTION: This verse is the “North Star” of Theology: “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Cor 5:21 NIV)
I. HE LIVED THE GREATEST LIFE EVER LIVED
    “had no sin”

1. His life was flawless
2. His life had no sin in it

II. HE DID THE GREATEST THING EVER DONE
&nbsp    became “sin for us”

1. The Son of God became the Son of man
2. The Son of God became the Lamb of God

III. HE PERFORMED THE GREATEST MIRACLE EVER KNOWN
“in Him we become the righteousness of God”

1. He gave us a new standing with God
2. He gave us a new heart within

CONCLUSION: From the cross He cried, “It is finished!”
The price has been paid. Our salvation is now possible.

“Blessed Redeemer”
Up Calv’ry’s mountain one dreadful morn
Walked Christ my Savior, weary and worn,
Facing for sinners death on the Cross
That He might save them from endless loss.
Blessed Redeemer! Precious Redeemer!
Seems now I see Him on Calvary’s tree,
Wounded and bleeding, for sinners pleading,
–Blind and unheeding–
Dying for me.
