Meet Claire Kala Haden

November 17, 2014 (Monday)
Meet my great grand daughter, born in Hawaii June 3, 2014. Here she is with her great grandpa Fake on November 15, 2014, in Rockport, Texas. This is a photo made within minutes of their very first meeting. She is a sweet, happy little baby girl who is excited about everything she see and hears. When we saw each other for the first time today, it was “Love at First Sight.”

When this picture was made, she was about 5 1/2 months old.
Her middle name means “sun.” It is pronouced “kah-LAH,” with the accent on the “la.” It is taken from the name of a Maui volcano, “Hale-a-kala, “House of the Sun.” From what I’ve seen so far, the name, “sun,” is appropriate, because she shines. She is interested in every little thing, fully involved with others and the world around her.
I knew grandparents could talk too much about their grandkids, but i am discovering that great grandparents (at least this one) probably outdo the grands. I’m glad I have lived long enough to see at least one of my great grandchildren. She is special. Honestly, now, you expect me to feel that way, don’t you?
All of us adults should consider love and praise for children a gigantic opportunity to help them grow up with self respect and appreciation of others. Claire has been born into a family that will want her to be happy and a joy to others. Her mother, Jenny, and her daddy, Stephen, love her dearly. Everyone else in her family loves her now; they will love her even more in days to come. It would be a wonderful world if all children could experience that.
