Do You Know My Jesus?

February 19, 2021 (Friday)

The Bible tells us that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” It further says, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” The cross has become a symbol of the Christian faith because Jesus died on a cruel Roman cross. Many people were crucified in those days but His death was different. He was the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. He died in our place. But He rose from the dead and lives to save all those who believe in Him as their Savior. Have you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ?

In yesterday’s blog I mentioned the song, “Do You Know My Jesus?” and quoted the chorus. Today I am including the music and a recording of the Gaither Homecoming Group of vocational singers. Ann Downing, the soloist, visited the First Baptist Church of Refugio and gave a concert while I was the church’s interim pastor and Marcia Peterson was the Music and Youth Director. Her visit to the church and her excellent program reminded me to remember, each time I hear a Gaither concert, that every singer in that group represents excellence in every way. They do a wonderful job with this evangelistic song.

And, by the way, Do you know my Jesus?

DO YOU KNOW MY JESUS?
V. P. Ellis and W. F. Lakey
1957

Have you a heart that’s weary
Tending a load of care
Are you a soul that’s seeking rest
From the burden you bear?

Do you know my Jesus
Do you know my friend
Have you heard he loves you
And that he will abide till the end?

Who knows your disappointments
Who hears each time you cry
Who understands your heartaches
Who drys the tears from your eyes.

Do you know my Jesus
Do you know my friend
Have you heard he loves you
And that he will abide till the end?

Have you heard he loves you
And that he will abide till the end?
