A Good Day to Say, “I Love You”

February 14, 2021 (Sunday)

Today is Valentine’s Day, a day to think about love.

If you are married, it’s a good day to tell your mate how much you love him/her. Of course, every day is a good day for that.

Florists have told me it’s the busiest day of their year.

I have noticed that people use the word, “love,” more than they once did. I have also told people I love them. That seems more permissable these days. When I was growing up, men never told other people (other than sweethearts) that they loved them. But in today’s world, that seems to be perfectly acceptable. It seems to fall under the banner of Christian love for everyone.

Love is not a weakness. It is definitely a strength.

Valentine’s Day is associated with romantic love, but the word, “love,” can also mean love of a different kind: Friendship love. And it can also mean sacrificial love: helping others even if it hurts.

If you love someone, say it, show it, and savor it. I said, Say it. Show it. Savor it.

The Bible says Love is the greatest quality of life. Faith is great. Hope is wonderful. But Love is the greatest of all.

No reason to say, “I love you?” Make that call to say “I love you” now!

I JUST CALLED TO SAY I LOVE YOU
Stevland Morris
1984

No New Year’s day to celebrate
No chocolate-covered candy hearts to give away
No first of spring
No song to sing
In fact, it’s just another ordinary day

No April rain
No flowers bloom
No wedding Saturday within the month of June
But what it is, is something true
Made up of these three words that I must say to you

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart

No summer’s high
No warm July
No harvest moon to light one tender August night
No autumn breeze
No falling leaves
Not even time for birds to fly to southern skies
No Libra sun
No Halloween
No giving thanks to all the Christmas joy you bring

But what it is, though old, so new
To fill your heart like no three words could ever do
I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care, I do
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart

I just called to say I love you
I just called to say how much I care, I do
I just called to say I love you
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart
Of my heart
Of my heart
