Christmas carolers love to go from house to house, singing the old familiar carols. The carol for today is not likely to be sung by groups of people who know all the old Christmas songs. This song is different, and requires a skill in reading and performing music that most of us do not have. We love to hear it sung, however, by those who can do it.
CAROL OF THE BELLS
“Carol of the Bells” is a popular Christmas carol composed by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in 1914 with lyrics by Peter J. Wilhousky. The song is based on a Ukrainian folk chant called “Shchedryk.”
Hark how the bells,
Sweet silver bells,
All seem to say,
Throw cares away
Christmas is here,
Bringing good cheer,

Meek and the bold.
