The fruit of the Spirit is patience.

OCTOBER 6, 2007 (SATURDAY) – The fruit of the Spirit is Patience.
When we say a person has a “short fuse,” most everyone knows what we mean.

That person is easily angered. It doesn’t take much to set him off. He has a chip on his shoulder. He’s always ready to fight at the drop of a hat. He’s a hot head.
In contrast, the person with a long fuse is described as “patient.” That person seems to be able to put up with a lot before responding. The patient person is also one who keeps at a task, no matter how much others try to discourage him.
So, there you have it: the short fuse and the long fuse. Which one is yours?
The fruit of the Spirit is the long fuse: patience.
A lady was just finishing the job of hanging out her wash on the clotheslines in her back yard when dogs chasing each other made a run through the area, pulling down the wet clothes and trampling them with mud. As she stood there looking at the trail of damage, realizing she would have to gather up the wet and muddy clothes and do her laundry a second time, she half-smiled, saying, “Ain’t it strange they didn’t miss a single clothesline!” I’d say she had a long fuse. She was patient.

The big thing to notice in Galatians 5:22-23 is the supernatural nature of the fruit of the Spirit. Patience may come easily to some people as a part of their basic disposition, but when a person who was known to become angry easily, becomes a Christian and begins to show patience, that’s the work of the Holy Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is patience.
When a person is born again, he/she is born to a new life in Christ. The Holy Spirit produces evidence of a new heart by producing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
The fruit of the spirit is patience.
Are you patient?
