And an American hero

P-s-s-s-t, hey buddy, wanna buy some Kuchofuku? That’s a Japanese word for air-conditioned clothing.
Japan’s disasters have created a power shortage, so one man seized upon the need to be cool and invented clothing that circulates air around the body, creating a personal environment that is cooler than the room in which the person finds himself.
Kuchofuku jackets come equipped with a pair of battery-operated fans on the sides, which draw air in. The inventor, Hiroshi Ichigaya, says the constant breeze running inside the jacket helps evaporate all the sweat and creates a personal cooling system in the process.
Sounds like a great idea to me, and the new fashion is likely to spread to other areas of the world where such an invention might prove helpful.
On a completely different note, the appearance of Gabrielle Giffords, Arizona Representative and attempted assassination victim, at her place on the floor of the House of Representatives Monday evening was one of the most inspirational moments of American history. She is still participating in various kinds of therapy, working toward the goal of complete recovery, but the story of her determination to get better has vaulted her to hero status and doubtless has inspired people all over the world to overcome their obstacles and keep moving on with their lives.
