I’ve been replaced

..by a computer

”picA Houston couple could not get their friend to serve as minister for their wedding, so they got married by a computer.
The groom wrote a program for the purpose, and, on the wedding day, he and his bride stood before a television screen to repeat their vows. It was only a 30 inch screen at that. We ministers deserve to be replaced by a larger screen, say 42 inch or 55 inch, don’t you think?
The license will be signed by a real, live, Justice of the Peace. You can’t beat good old flesh and blood for some things.
We preachers, however, are already accustomed to being replaced by T.V. preachers. That’s been happening for years. Before that, there were the radio preachers who always reminded the audience, “Keep those cards and letters coming, friends.” That can be a good thing; I know of several people who have been helped by radio and television ministries. Many people are Christians today because they were led to Christ through a media ministry. But when it comes to finding fellowship with other believers, you can’t beat a local congregation, with real, living, flesh and blood sinners saved by grace.
The New Testament has a name for these saved sinners: “Saints.” The word literally means, “Holy Ones.” It simply means that a believer belongs to God and has become part of his family. As the old song says, “When the saints go marching in, Oh, Lord, I want to be in their number, when the saints go marching in.”
