Much ado about nothing

This morning at 8:00 a.m. the temperature in Rockport is 90 and the heat index 115. At least Don did something: he made it hotter than ever.
In the words of one local forecaster last night: “Don’s done.”
Don met our enormous dry high pressure system and lost the battle. Our drought prevailed. Don simply withered away. “He couldn’t take the heat.”
I guess the cotton farmers out-prayed us this time. With the big, high-priced super crop of cotton this year, they had sufficient reason to push the rain away, because it would have cost them dearly.
As one litltle pig said about the big bad wolf (Don): “He huffed and puffed, but he couldn’t..” The other two little pigs had a different story. Let’s not forget that Don has some big brothers out there.
