Why We Preach the Gospel
August 12, 2007 (Sunday) – Here’s the sermon outline for today at the
First Baptist Church of Rockport.
WHY WE PREACH THE GOSPEL 1 CORINTHIANS 1:18-25
INTRO: The gospel is the good news of the death, burial and
resurrection of Jesus Christ. (1 Cor 15). For some this message
is foolish or offensive, but we keep on preaching the Gospel. Why?
I. BECAUSE IT IS MORE POWERFUL THAN ANY HUMAN POWER
II. BECAUSE IT IS WISER THAN ANY HUMAN WISDOM
III. BECAUSE GOD SAVES THOSE WHO BELIEVE IT
IV. BECAUSE IT SPEAKS PLAINLY TO OUR NEEDS
V. BECAUSE IT NEEDS ONLY TO BE TOLD
VI. BECAUSE IT IS DEAR TO THE HEARTS OF BELIEVERS
VII. BECAUSE IT REVEALS THE GREATNESS OF THE CROSS
CONCLUSION: Jesus won the victory for all of us at the Cross. “We
are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God
for salvation for everyone who believes..” (Romans 1:16).
