..Sermon for July 29..

A Biblical Faith (Hebrews 12:1-13)

July 29, 2007 (Sunday) – Again this Sunday I give you the outline of this morning’s sermon for the 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. service at the First Baptist Church of Rockport, Texas.
The text for the sermon is Hebrews 12:1-13, and the sermon topic is “A Biblical Faith.” Here’s the outline:
Introduction: The faith of the people listed in Hebrews 11 was a faith that moved them to action. We need faith like that. We need:
1. A Christ-Centered Faith (Heb 12:1-4)
(1) Christ is the beginning of our faith
(2) Christ is the end of our faith
(3) Christ is the example of our faith
2. A Disciplined Faith (Heb 12:5-11)
(1) God disciplines us to show His love for us
(2) God disciplines us to strengthen our faith
(3) God disciplines us through life experiences
3. A Practical Faith (Heb 12:12-13)
(1) Faith energizes us
(2) Faith frees us
(3) Faith sanctifies us
Conclusion: Let us completely trust and obey the
Lord Jesus Christ. That’s Biblical Faith.
