In a bed
August 5, 2010 (Thursday)
Here’s a picture I took in 1955. The man on the left is “Mister Louie,” my father-in-law, and on the right is “Slim,” the man I wrote about yesterday in this blog. Those are sweet potatoes they are putting in what was called a “potato bed.” If you look up information about storing sweet potatoes, you discover that they have humidity and temperature requirements for proper storage. Evidently, this time-tested method fulfilled the requirements.
