picture of CharlesJeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
We learn from this Scripture three things: 1. We are to seek the Lord, 2. We are to do it with our whole heart, and 3. We will find the Lord.
Seek the Lord. All over the world people are seeking God in many different ways. There are many religions and many lifestyles through which people try to find spiritual help for the journey of life. This is because, as Augustine put it, “Thou hast made us for Thyself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in Thee.”
Seek the Lord with all your heart. The crises of life make an impact upon us and, for many people, present an opportunity to seek God sincerely. At some point in our lives, we need to think seriously about the Lord, and seek to know Him. We can know him through faith in Jesus Christ. If a trial of some sort causes you to think more seriously about God’s place in your life, then it’s not all bad.
When you seek the Lord with your entire being, sincerely, whole-heartedly, you will find him. The greatest day of your life is the day you meet God in Christ. “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). Actually, it’s not so much your finding Him as it is His finding you. Read three brief stories from Jesus in Luke 15 and see for yourself.
