What Will We Do In Heaven?

Yesterday was “Relaxation Day.” You may be as I, never having heard of it before, but it is observed annually by some folks. We set aside one day for relaxation but we work hard on all the other days? Possibly so.
Rudyard Kipling, surely one of history’s greatest poets, wrote of both resting and working in our eternal state of being:

When Earth’s last picture is painted and the tubes are twisted and dried,
When the oldest colours have faded, and the youngest critic has died, We shall rest, and, faith, we shall need it–lie down for an aeon or two,
Till the Master of All Good Workmen shall put us to work anew!
L’Envoi, Stanza 1 (1896).
Each for the joy of the working, and each, in his separate star,
Shall draw the Thing as he sees It for the God of Things as They Are!
And only the Master shall praise us, and only the Master shall blame;
And no one shall work for money, and no one shall work for fame,
But each for the joy of the working, and each, in his separate star,
Shall draw the Thing as he sees It for the God of Things as They Are!
L’Envoi, Stanza 3 (1896).

The vocal group, “Mercy Me,” also wrote verses that offer suggestions about what we may do in Heaven. Susan Boyle sings those words as they are displayed on the video below:

If you click here you will hear Susan sing “Imagine” and see the words displayed on the screen as she sings.

I Can Only Imagine

MercyMe
I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk, by your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When you face is before me
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
Surrounded by You glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus
Or in awe of You be still
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine when that day comes
When I find myself standing in the Son
I can only imagine when all I would do is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for You, Jesus
Or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine hey ya ah
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel
Will I dance for You, Jesus
Or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah
Will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine
I can only imagine hey ya ah
I can only imagine yeah yeah
I can only imagine
I can only imagine ey ey ey
I can only imagine
I can only imagine when all I will do
Is forever, forever worship You
I can only imagine
