As we come to the close of Thanksgiving days and look forward to Christmas days, we are in the midst of very special, important days that remind us again and again of how great God is. Through creation, redemption and providence He has made us, saved us, and kept us. We are His people because of His great love for each and every one of us, sinners saved by grace.
Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill present a magnificent interpretation of the song, “How Great Thou Art.” They sing it to the Lord and we get to listen in.
How Great Thou Art
Author: Carl Gustav Boberg (1859-1940)
Translator: (Swedish to English) Stuart K. Hine (1949)
O Lord my God,
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all
The works Thy Hand hath made,
I see the stars,
I hear the mighty thunder,
Thy pow’r throughout
The universe displayed,
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
When through the woods
And forest glades I wander
I hear the birds
Sing sweetly in the trees,
When I look down
From lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook
And feel the gentle breeze,
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
When Christ shall come,
With shouts of acclamation,
And take me home,
What joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And there proclaim,
“My God, how great Thou art!”
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
Then sings my soul,
My Savior God, to Thee,
How great Thou art!
How great Thou art!
