His Name!

A popular song of faith is “I’d Rather Have Jesus.” He is more precious to us than silver or gold, more precious than anything the world has to offer.
We used to sing a chorus that went like this:

If you’ll take my Jesus while He’s passing by,
If you’ll take my Jesus He’ll sure satisfy,
If you’ll take my Jesus He’ll hear your heart’s cry,
If you’ll take my Jesus today.

Jesus Christ delivers us from sin. He is our Savior. He is our Messiah. Isaiah predicted the coming of the Messiah: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6 KJV).

Wonderful – There is no one like Him.
Counselor – He knows how to lead and guide us.
The Mighty God – He is Divine — the Second Person of the Godhead
The Everlasting Father – He and the Father are One
The Prince of Peace – He wants to impart peace to every human heart
