I’m sure you’ve heard this poem: “Two men looked out through prison bars. One saw mud. The other saw stars.” The person who saw the stars was the happier of the two. The one who saw only mud probably saw the bad side of most things. The song for today, “What A Wonderful World,” is not a religious song–or is it? Paul wrote to the Romans, “..you are full of goodness.” We need to take the time to see the good in others, and the beauty of the world we live in. It’s our choice. But I like being able to say, “What a Wonderful World.”
What a Wonderful World
Songwriters: George Douglas / George David Weiss / Bob Thiele
I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They’re really saying I love you
I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more than I’ll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world
