After adding the old secular song, “Just Because,” to my just-for-fun blog yesterday, I started thinking about the term, “Just because,” and came up with the idea that those words could well be the title of a song that names reasons we love Jesus. I know of no such song, but I did discover a web site called, “theodysseyonline.com,” an essay entitled, “17 Reasons Why I Love Jesus.”
1. He washed my rivers of wrong
2. He first loved me
3. I was His joy set before Him
4. He doesn’t like legalistic religion either
5. He was there to heal my heart
6. I can trust Him fully
7. He has been my best friend through loneliness
8. He has been my strength and peace through the hardest times
9. There isn’t a day that goes by with Him that doesn’t include excitement
10. He has saving and transforming power
11. I don’t have to set up an appointment or get ignored
12. He set me free from my habits I just couldn’t get past
13. He makes me whole
14. My identity and purpose is found in Him
15. Among the colossal sea of people on this earth, He knows my name
16. I’ll never have to be without Him again
17. He believes in me when I don’t believe in myself
Start seeking Jesus today. I promise you will fall in love with Him too, and you will never look back.
