Keep on Keeping On

We all need encouragement from time to time. Frank Sinatra made several songs famous with the message of encouragement.
Here’s one of them. It goes like this:

Now nothing’s impossible, I’ve found
or when my chin is on the ground,
I pick myself up, dust myself off, and start all over again.Click here to hear a few bars

There were others. How about “High Hopes?”

Just what makes that little old ant
Think he’ll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can’t
Move a rubber tree plant

But he’s got high hopes, he’s got high hopes
He’s got high apple pie, in the sky hopes
So any time you’re gettin’ low
‘stead of lettin’ go
Just remember that ant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant!

And do you remember the kids and nurses in Seattle Children’s Hospital lip-syncing Kelly Clarkson’s song, “Stronger?” It’s hard not to weep when watching. It is one of the most inspirational videos I’ve ever seen. Click here

Jesus encourages us. He said, “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24).
He gives us wise counsel. “Do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’.. your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:31-34).
The Apostle Paul also urges us onward and upward. He declared, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13). So can you.
Hey, are you down? Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again. Yes, you!
