Today is “National Relaxation Day.”
I searched on the web for information about this, and found the page that promotes the special day. It offers many suggestions. Click here to see it.
Then I got to thinking, “Are there scriptures that tell us to relax?” In my search, I found a web page that lists hundreds of choices of verses on a vast number of subjects. Click here to find that page. I think you will enjoy it. It’s worth a bookmark in your computer. It lists an unbelievable number of subjects in the Bible. All you have to do is click.
What are the references to “relax?” Here are some of them:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7 ESV).
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33 ESV)
“If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet”(Proverbs 3:24 ESV).
“I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live. The snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish. Then I called on the name of the Lord: “O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!” Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; our God is merciful. …”(Psalm 116:1-19 ESV)
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Psalm 46:10 ESV).
