In The Wrong Place?

Wanda and I were headed for Houston. After we passed through Plantersville, we saw the traffic was pretty heavy for the rural highway we were on. Then, up ahead, flashing lights, barriers, and officers directing us to turn right. Hmm, must be road work, I said to myself, and we turned right, and found ourselves at The Texas Renaissance Festival! knights.jpg Fortunately, we were on some kind of loop that took us around a few kings, knights and fair maidens and back to the highway.
Wow, I guess I can say I went to the Texas Renaissance Festival once.
Did you ever wind up in a place that surprised you? What did you do? You probably did what I did–looked for a way out.
This happens in life. Life is a journey. But it takes you on a road that’s full of potholes, barriers, and dangers. And sometimes a detour takes you to a place you’ve never visited before. Suppose you look around and see that you don’t belong there. What you do next will affect your life from that moment on. Do you turn around and get back on the right road, or do you make yourself at home in your new, but strange, environment?
Many a person has faced this choice in life. Some made the right choice to turn around and get back on track. Others, however, have settled down with new friends and a new way of life. This new place has caused them to forsake their original journey and embark upon a new one. Sadly, this has been a tragic move for many.
Reminds me of the words of God, to those on the wrong road, through his ancient prophet: “Turn, turn! For why will you die?” (Ezekiel 33:11).
