Salvation Is Now Possible
NOVEMBER 4, 2007 (SUNDAY) – Here’s the sermon outline for this morning at First Baptist Church, Rockport, Texas:
GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE 2 CORINTHIANS 5:21
INTRODUCTION:
This verse is the “North Star” ofTheology: “God made him who had no sin to be sin
for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness
of God.” (2 Cor 5:21 NIV)
I. HE LIVED THE GREATEST LIFE EVER LIVED
“had no sin”
1. His life was flawless
2. His life had no sin in it
II. HE DID THE GREATEST THING EVER DONE
became “sin for us”
1. The Son of God became the Son of man
2. The Son of God became the Lamb of God
III. HE PERFORMED THE GREATEST MIRACLE EVER KNOWN
“in Him we become the righteousness of God”
1. He gave us a new standing with God
2. He gave us a new heart within
CONCLUSION: From the cross He cried, “It is finished!”
The price has been paid. Our salvation is now
possible. Hymn, “Blessed Redeemer.”
