January 31, 2014 (Friday)
This blog on Friday will be the last one for the week. My next blog will appear on Monday, when the Super Bowl will be over and we will all know who will have won the game.
What many of us have not known about the two quarterbacks, Manning and Wilson, is that both of them are dedicated Christians. I learned this by reading James Denison’s Forum, which you can read by clicking here.
He wrote an article about how each of the quarterbacks came to know Jesus Christ as Savior. You can read about Manning here. And you can read about Wilson here.
You may ask, what has this to do with the game? I’m not sure about that, but could you realistically expect an old retired preacher to pass up the opportunity to tell you something about Jesus? Manning and Wilson are undoubtedly two of football’s best players. To know a little more about their personal faith in the Savior is inspirational.
While I’m on this subject, let me mention, “The Book of Manning,” an ESPN production about the Archie Manning family that will touch your heart. It can be watched on TV whenever it is shown, or it can be rented or purchased from many sources.
