Old Age

“It is sad to go to pieces like this but we all have to do it.”―Mark Twain

Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were young, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted, but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go” (John 21:18 ESV).
Jesus was telling Peter about his eventual death as a martyr, but the words can be applied to old age.
There is a chapter in the Book of Ecclesiastes that begins, “Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, ‘I find no pleasure in them'” (Ecclesiastes 12:1 NIV). The chapter then goes on to describe the trials of old age.
Since getting old can be traumatic, we rely on humor to soften the blow. So please get a kick out of “Five Advantages to Old Age” by clicking here. (The web site is “http://tobey100.hubpages.com/.”)
Have a great day.
