Strength for the day

October 4, 2012 (Thursday)
”picThere is a wonderful verse in the Bible that should be a source of encouragement to all of us. Here it is: “As thy days, so shall thy strength be” (Deuteronomy 33:25 KJV). This verse is kin to a line in the prayer known as “The Lord’s Prayer,” which says, “Give us this day our daily bread,” and means that God supplies what we need on any given day. Our bread and our spiritual strength comes to us “day by day.”
A Bible verse which sounds a lot like those above is Philippians 4:19, “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” We have learned that this promise is kept on a daily basis.
It is important for us to understand the difference between our “wants” and our “needs.” We’ve learned that if parents give their children everything they want they may be doing them a grave injustice. Human nature almost guarantees that a person who gets everything he wants, totally unearned, whether or not he needs it, is in danger of being “spoiled.”
Let us accept the promise of the Lord and trust Him to supply our real needs, remembering that verse which says, “As thy days, so shall thy strength be.” What kind of day are you having? Is the Lord keeping His promise?

..God has promised
Strength for the day,
Rest for the labor,
Light for the way,
Grace for the trials,
Help from above,
Unfailing sympathy,
Undying love.
