More About Father’s Day

One additional reflection

June 18, 2012 (Monday)
”picFriday’s blog was about men who were “father figures” to me as I grew up. Today’s blog is a reflection on my part upon the years spent by Wanda and me in the rearing of five children. The oldest will be 58 in a few weeks, and the youngest will be 46 in November. The pictures below portray the years of growth into adulthood by those children, from the 1950’s to the present day.
God was good to Wanda and me in giving us good children who have always been a blessing. Not everyone is so fortunate. I am very thankful for each of them and their families. We don’t get everyone together at one time in one place as easily as in the past, but when we do, we count 20 people. No great grandchildren yet.
Excuse me, please while I pray: “Thank you, Lord, for the family you have given me.

One of my gifts for Father’s Day was wrapped in paper printed with a collage of photos that show me as a father. View image
It was made from photos on the Flickr site created by Dwight (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dwfake). I was very impressed with the collection of photos, the combining of them into one big picture, and the creative use of it as gift wrap.
