Nothing you do for the Lord will be forgotten by Him
AUGUST 21, 2007 (TUESDAY) – Do you recognize the name of Adriana Caselotti? No? Neither do I. She is, however, an important person in the movies. Hers was the voice of Snow White in the 1937 classic, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” None of the voices in the movie was credited. *
How about the name, “Charles Becker?” Don’t recognize him, either? He was the “Mayor of Munchkin City” in “The Wizard of Oz.” **
We remember the voices and characters, but we never knew their names. The good old internet has revived interest in such things, and now you have no problem in seeing their names in print, giving recognition for their work (check out the footnotes on this page).
A lesson for us:
I think about possibly millions of dedicated Christians who have meant so much to the Kingdom of God through the millenia. Their names – and, in most cases, their accomplishments for Christ – are unknown to us. Perhaps they were never known by another human being. They served the Lord and did their best, but only the Lord knows what they did.
They will not remain unknown forever. On that Great Day of the Lord, we shall hear their names called, and watch with joy as the Lord rewards them for their service. No service to Christ goes unnoticed by Him. The message to those who serve Him is, “God will bless you and reward you when his people rise from death.” (Luke 14:14 CEV). Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount, promised, “Your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6:4, NIV).
Nothing you do for the Lord will be forgotten by Him. He sees. He knows. He cares.
