Rain, Rain

Thanks for visiting our area

”picWe all remember the little verse we learned to say on rainy days when we were kids: “Rain, rain, go away; come again some other day.” But now that we are all grown up, we no longer sing that song, especially when we have a rainy day after a very long dry spell. That happened yesterday. Throughout South Texas, rainfall amounts varied from 1″ to 3.5″ and it was very welcome.
The farmers especially appreciate the good rain. Collectively, it is valued in the millions of dollars.
For the rest of us, we’ll be glad to see our lawns do well for a while, and happy to know about all the advantages of more balance in the natural order of things as far as weather is concerned.
A cool front is due tonight after a very hot day today, and temperatures will moderate for a few days and nights. We’ll welcome those changes.
Jesus said it rains on the just and the unjust. I guess those two words include everyone.
