Sowing Precious Seed

The Apostle Paul wrote, “Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved” (Romans 10:1 NIV).

I think most Christians are concerned about loved ones and friends and all people who are not saved. Many Christians express that concern by telling others about their own spiritual journey that led them to Christ.

Years ago, Ralph Neighbour introduced a method of witnessing that is simple and effective. He called it, “Witness, take the stand.” He suggested sharing 4 things with a person who has not yet accepted Christ as Savior: 1. My life before I came to know Christ. 2. How I came to see my need of Christ. 3. My experience of accepting Christ as my Savior. 4. My life since I became a Christian. He suggested stating these points simply and quickly so that it is all said within 2 minutes. After giving this witness, you may ask the person, “Has anything like that every happened to you?” If they say, “No,” then you can continue the conversation as the Lord leads you in leading that person to accept Christ as Savior.

There are many ways to share one’s testimony. This is only one. Basically it’s just a way of sharing with others our joy in Christ and our desire to see everyone else have that joy in their own lives.

If the person for whom you have been praying and to whom you have been witnessing seems ready to know more, you might consider using “The Roman Road” to lead them further on the path to salvation. Click here to see how it is presented.

Sharing “The Four Spiritual Laws” is a wonderful way to lead people to Christ. It can be shared in a tiny booklet that is given to a person with a prayer that he/she may refer to it and find spiritual help in it. Or its message can simply be shared verbally. Click here to see a simplified version.

Jesus said to His followers, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18-20 NIV).
